Why MPOS
Four promises to every business that uses MPOS.
Most till systems are sold on features. Features matter, but what decides whether a system is good for your business is who owns your records, what you pay over the years, who helps you start, and whether the tax on your receipts is right.
01 · Your data
Your data stays yours.
We don't sell it, lend against it or build a business on it. You pay for the software, so the software is the product.
What it means for you
- Your sales, customers and stock are never sold or shared, and we don't use your customer list for our own marketing.
- No loan offers built on your till. Your sales history is not a credit file.
- The owner can download everything at any time: one backup file, or lists that open in Excel.
- A late renewal never locks or deletes your records.
02 · How you pay
Pay once to own it.
No monthly debit, and no free plan that might not be free next year. One setup and licence fee, agreed with you before you start.
What it means for you
- Then a yearly renewal of 45% of that same fee covers cloud sync, your online page, updates and support.
- The renewal is tied to the fee you agreed, and it shows on your Billing page. It doesn't move with a price list.
- If a renewal is late, the till keeps selling. After 7 days only the cloud side pauses, and nothing is deleted.
- Try every feature free for 14 days first, with no card or payment details.
03 · Setup
Someone comes to your shop.
Installation and training at your premises, anywhere in Ghana. Not a download and a help article.
What it means for you
- We load your products, menu or services, and can import your list from Excel or CSV, including an Aronium export.
- Every member of staff is trained on their own login, for the job they do.
- It is part of the one-time setup fee, from Tamale to Takoradi, not an extra for being outside Accra.
- No hardware to buy from us. MPOS runs on the phones, tablets and laptops you already own.
04 · Tax
Tax worked out on every receipt.
VAT 15%, NHIL 2.5% and GETFund 2.5%, each shown separately on every receipt, worked out under the VAT Act 2025 (Act 1151).
What it means for you
- Prices include tax by default, the way most Ghanaian businesses price, so items add up to the bill.
- VAT-exempt items, such as many medicines, are marked once and handled on every sale.
- A monthly tax breakdown is ready for your VAT returns.
- GRA E-VAT: we are not certified yet. We are preparing our application and will only say so once GRA has certified us.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about our four promises.
Does MPOS sell my data?
No. We don't sell or share your sales, customer or stock data, we don't lend against it, and we don't use your customer list for our own marketing. You pay for the software, and that is how we earn our money.
Can I download all my data?
Yes. The owner can download a full backup at any time from Backup and transfer: products, customers, suppliers, stock, staff, ledgers, settings and the sales, purchases and expenses of the years you choose, as one file or as lists for Excel.
Is MPOS really a one-time payment?
The licence is. You pay one setup and licence fee, agreed with you. A yearly renewal of 45% of that fee then pays for the parts that cost money to run every year: cloud sync, your online page, updates and support. There is no monthly charge.
What happens if I stop renewing?
Your till keeps selling and your records stay yours. After a short grace period the cloud side pauses: syncing between devices, remote reports and your online page wait until you renew, and everything uploads the moment you do.
Do you really come to businesses outside Accra?
Yes. We install MPOS and train you and your staff at your premises anywhere in Ghana, and it is part of the one-time setup fee.
Is MPOS certified for GRA E-VAT?
Not yet. We are preparing our application to become a GRA-certified E-VAT provider and will say so only once GRA has certified us. Today MPOS shows VAT, NHIL and GETFund on every receipt and gives you a monthly tax breakdown, but it does not send invoices to GRA.
